Horsemanship
This class has something for everybody. On the first class day riders are sized up for their experience on horseback. If they have little, none or prefer not to run, then its off to beginners’ class. Beginners’ class involves basic horsemanship including feeding, saddling and grooming but always finds the campers on horseback everyday. Patterns, horse control techniques, trail rides and a chance to ride in the grand entry of the rodeo are all a part of beginners’ horsemanship. For those who have a fair amount of experience on horseback and would like the challenge of riding in a rodeo event involving poles or barrels (going around and not over them!), then it’s off the arena for daily practice in an event to be held at the Frontier Camp Rodeo on Thursday night.
